CREATIVE TEAM + THANKS

Jenny Harris

Jenny Harris is a drama practitioner in Manchester with over 30 years’ experience of working with groups of all ages and abilities using drama and storytelling to promote confidence, well-being, connection and inclusion with companies including M6 Theatre, National Youth Theatre, University of Chester, University of Manchester, DIY Theatre, The Edge Theatre, Theatre Porto and Small Things.

Jenny was the lead artist on a major research project in Care Aesthetics funded by the Arts and Health Research Council, led by Professor James Thompson at the University of Manchester. She is a member of DCERG (Dementia Carers Expert Reference Group) for Dementia United.

Since 2014, Jenny has led Storybox, a creative project for people living with a dementia and their carers and family. It uses a multi art form approach to encourage togetherness with a focus on being in the moment and creating theatre.

In 2023 she began to explore the themes and ideas in Our Long Goodbye with thanks to a Developing Your Creative Practice grant from Arts Council England.

In 2024 Jenny was a finalist for Independent Creative of the Year at Manchester Culture Awards for her work on Our Long Goodbye. This is her first touring exhibition.

Jenny has many passions – her family, her tennis, producing ‘Tickle your Fancy’ cabaret night and many more!
